Vinayak Mali
Education- M.A. in Elementary Education (TISS), BA in Political Science, Diploma in Teacher Education Vinayak holds experience in diverse range of educational activities with Children. He has been a caretaker and a mentor for students at an Orphan School at Vidyarthi Vikas Kendra, Kolhapur in 2010-11. Later, he was a Fellow at Jnana Prabodhini, Pune where he was involved in development of Teaching and learning aids in mathematics for primary school children. He was also a resource person of In-service Teacher Training Program for primary school teachers from Maharashtra during the period. In the year 2012-13, he was a Fellow at Gyan Setu, Pune and worked as a Project trainer of learning science through “Hands on Activity” for the children from developmentally challenged states such as Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Chhattisgarh, Jammu And Kashmir. Simultaneously, he was a Facilitator at Educational Activity Center, Pune and involved in workshops such as Personality Development, Creative Thinking, Self-learning and reading skill, 3D model making, etc. for Children. He is presently working with ‘Apni Shala’ as a ‘Programme Catalyst’ and takes life skills sessions for children in Schools in Mumbai. Through such a diverse experience of working with children he has build excellent ability in understanding children and skills of working in a child-centered manner.

Rushikesh Kirtikar
Education - M.Phil Social work He is currently pursuing his Ph.D from TISS. Rushikesh has started conceptualizing the model of ‘Practice Based Education’ through Ashoka’s Youth Venture Fellowship which was awarded to him in January, 2010. He developed the model since then by working at different settings. Initially he worked on it for one year during his Master’s fieldwork in an NGO on Education. After passing out, he was awarded the TISS Fellowship for the project which he practiced full-time in a rural area in Thane District in co-ordination with the NGO, QUEST for one and a half year. He further refined the model during this period while working with a group of around 15 children. He continued his work during his M.Phil initially in an NGO named LEAD Foundation in Airoli and after a year established his own center named ‘Vigyan Khel Ghar’ in Bainganwadi, Mumbai working independently. He was awarded the Dalai Lama Fellowship during this period. He presented a paper explaining on his model of education in the International Conference on ‘New Perspectives in Science Education’ Florence, Italy, in March 2013. His M.Phil research on ‘Constructivism in Education’ gives him a philosophical understanding of the problem in education today and the current developments in education in the area of curriculum and pedagogies. He understands the current limitations of contemporary education and the essential areas of work required to bring Reform in Education.
Suhas Prabhavale
Education -BA.Ded 3 yrs teaching experience in primary school named Seva Bharti, Ichalkaranji. He has done workshops for teachers in designing teaching learning materials. Has worked with Jnana Prabodhini in Pune and was a coordinator with the project ‘Gyan Setu’ for one year. He travelled to Chattisgarh and Jammu and Kashmir under the project and worked with the children in these areas. He took workshops on Calligraphy, Rangoli and Drawing and has reached to 1000 children. He has developed Maths teaching learning materials in primary schools in Pune. Presently he leads the Rural Kolhapur center where Sunday Science School programme is run.
Varsha Mali
Education- BE in ENTC appearing. Varsha is presently a teacher at a private coaching institute from the past two years. She is enthusiastic about improving the present state of education and developing her understanding of the issues and skills. She has been attending various workshops and seminars on Education. She has played an important part in setting a ‘Sugar School’ near her village in Kolhapur which is a school for the children of the families who has migrated from Marathwada to Kolhapur owing to its activities related to Sugarcane production. These families migrate for a period of around three months during which time their children get a gap in education. ‘Sugar School’ is an initiative by the local youth to fill up this gap by providing education to the children. Varsha has been a key member of this initiative.
Chetan Kamble
He is a primary school teacher in a private school from the past two years and being unsatisfied with many things in the Education sector, he is very enthusiastic and willing to do something new in the field of education. Like Varsha Mali, he too has played an important role in setting up and running the ‘Sugar School’ for the migrated children in rural Kolhapur.
